shot_1367225027151It’s been another wonderful week with lots to include in my Project Life! From catch up’s with friends, to my new found Instagram addiction, to what was possibly the best day of my life…EVER, it’s been wonderful to look back on it all and put these pages together.

shot_1367225031196The collage on the top left was a way for me to include some of my first Instagram pictures. I finally got the app after months of hearing everyone else raving about it, and I love it! You can follow me @morningdollface to see all of the things that I get up to!

On Thursday night we took an impromptu trip to Hasting to see the partial lunar eclipse. Although only a small amount of the moon was covered in shadow, the sky was so clear and it looked beautiful reflected on the sea water.

I also included my recipe for the week (my first medeira cake!), the progress of my second bonsai seedling (the first one died!) and a screenshot of some of the snaps I took at my first Love Peggy Rose product photo-shoot.

The second page was dedicated entirely to the most wonderfully magical experience – my trip to the Harry Potter Studios Tour…

shot_1367225036517As a proud Potter Geek there is nowhere I’d rather be than the Harry Potter Studios Tour, except perhaps The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but a road trip up the M25 is much easier (and cheaper) than a flight to Florida! If I could, I would live at the studios, and I think that even if I was there every day I still wouldn’t be able to take everything in! I was in awe from the moment we arrived and couldn’t have imagined it better. For anyone who is even remotely interested in Harry Potter, or even just in films, it is a must-see. I honestly cannot recommend it enough! I’m going to stop there, because I could definitely go on about it all day, but let’s just say that my life has now been made by perhaps the best week ever.

This week was a little more creative than previous weeks – I’ve been learning how to crochet, so have included some examples of what I have done so far, alongside my recipe for the week, and a couple of milestones I hit!

shot_1359543609787My first crochet project was these cute little bows, followed by granny squares. I saw this quote on Pinterest and it felt totally appropriate so I wanted to include it too!

shot_1359543625874As always, I included my recipe for the week, which was a classic white loaf of bread. You’ll see a few blurry looking pictures, which are screenshots for my biggest orders on ASOS Marketplace, and for reaching 200 likes on this blog! The writing at the top is a quote from Oprah Winfrey which was included in the book that I’m reading at the moment: Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul.

I’m hoping that going forward I’ll be doing more projects that I can include, like the blanket that I’m currently crocheting.

It’s been a fairly quiet week this week. I spent a bit of time hanging out with friends but didn’t document it, and the snow has seemed to prevent any wild plans!

shot_1358694337275

“Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look at what they can do when they stick together.”

I spent some time in the garden photographing the snow. I’m not really a fan of snow, but it is beautiful!

shot_1358694368558I was really pleased with these origami heart bookmarks and think they’re really cute. As always I included my recipe of the week, and I couldn’t resist using a paper doily to add some pattern – they remind me of snowflakes!

shot_1358694385354I believe it’s always important to try and keep some colour in your life, so I painted my nails sunshine yellow this week to keep my spirits lifted in the snowy weather!

Do It, And Do It Now

Motivational Monday: One Step

“Foolish people with all their other thoughts, have this one too: They are always getting ready to live, but never living.

Your success will start when you begin to pursue it. To reach your goal or to attain success, you don’t need to know all of the answers in advance. You just need to have a clear idea of what your goal is.

Don’t procrastinate when faced with difficult problems. Break your problems into parts, and handle one part at a time.

Develop tendencies toward taking action. You can make something happen right now. Divide your big plan into small steps and take that first step right away.

Everyone who ever got where they are had to begin where they were. Your big opportunity is where you are right now.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Take it.”

– Khloe Kardashian

Love.

Sometimes you hear or read something and it just strikes a chord with you, and you don’t necessarily know why, but you feel the need to read it again, or to share it, or to write it down so you never forget it, because it’s just the kind of thing that affects you somehow, something that you understand is so true, and true to you.

“Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It is not self seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrong. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects. Always trusts. Always hopes. Always preserves.”

Happiness.

One of the books that I read whilst on holiday was Eat Pray Love, written by Elizabeth Gilbert. Religion features quite heavily throughout the novel, and as it isn’t a part of my life, at times I found it rather difficult to relate to the book. However, there was one very specific extract that stood out for me, just one paragraph, but I found myself thinking ‘Yes, I understand, this makes perfect sense to me’. It was as if this paragraph was detailing exactly what this blog means to me, exactly what I made the conscious decision to do when I realised that I was unhappy. It was the perfect way to put across how I feel about my own journey, and the words were written for me.

“I keep remembering one of my Guru’s teachings about happiness. She says that people universally tend to think that happiness is a stroke of luck, something that will maybe descend upon you like fine weather if you’re fortunate enough. But that’s not how happiness works. Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestation of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it, you must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it. If you don’t, you will leak away your innate contentment.”
